Can I get married at St Mary's?

Thank you for asking about getting married at
St Mary’s - we are delighted that you are thinking of sharing your special day with us.

In order to be legally allowed to marry here there are certain
‘qualifying connections’ that have to be met.

You can get married in St Mary’s if one of you:

1 lives in the parish or
2 is on the church’s electoral roll ( our membership list. )
3 has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
4 has regularly gone to normal church services at St Mary’s for a period of at least 6 months
5 was baptised in the parish or
6 was prepared for confirmation in the parish

or if one of your parents, at any time after you were born:

7 has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
8 has at any time regularly gone to normal church services at St Mary’s for a period of at least 6 months

or

9 if one of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish.

If none of these apply, it is still possible to get married at St Mary’s if you (or your parents) can make a commitment to come to church services on a regular basis.

Contact Revd. Louise to find out more about this.
