Clergy and Churchwardens

Revd Canon Marion Russell - Vicar of St Mary’s

Revd Tim Calow - Associate Priest

I have been living in Embsay since 2000 and serving as Associate Priest since 2016. I love serving in our active church community in a variety of ways. The base here in our community supports my wider activities as Police Chaplain in Skipton and on the railway along Airedale.

Revd Bob Mitchell – Retired Priest

I am a retired priest, living on the north side of Skipton and part of the Ministry team at St Mary’s as of June 2018. My 40 years of ordained ministry included a lengthy spell in HM Forces as an Army Chaplain has provided a very broad perspective on life, and some challenging experiences!

Liz Roodhouse – Church Warden

I have lived in Eastby and been a member of St Mary’s congregation since 1978. I am passionate about social justice issues and regularly have a Fairtrade stall in church and take it to other venues in Embsay and further afield. It is a privilege to be a churchwarden, be part of the All Age Worship team and responsible for Smiley Faces, our Friday afternoon session for pre-school children, parents, grandparents and carers. I also enjoy managing the St Mary’s Facebook page and making sure that the church noticeboard is always up to date and looking attractive. A warm welcome for everyone and clear, meaningful communication are my priorities. Finally, I do my best to make sure that our vicar doesn’t work too hard – not an easy task!
